Here are the best things I read this week.
With some notes about Tuesday's article, in case any feathers were ruffled.

Happy Thursday.
Ahead of tomorrow’s article, I wanted to clear the air about Tuesday’s e-mail, in case there were any questions about my thoughts on very intense training. To start, I don’t think intensity is bad. It’s very necessary. I’ll talk about how necessary and when it’s necessary tomorrow.
I notably left fitness influencers out of the article (well, mostly), but I should also mention that gyms and group fitness instructors aren’t necessarily the only perpetrators in the toxic-HIIT dialogue. Many are absolved from this, and I don’t want to over-generalize.
Influencers with hundreds of thousands of followers are usually the ones pushing “Get Lean in 30 Days” programs and reinforcing the idea that you can achieve unimaginable results in record time. Also, I understand the value of training hard. I just don’t think you need to train unreasonably hard all the time. I’ve done it. I can attest to the fact that it simply doesn’t work.
Another component that was almost completely omitted from this dialogue is the diet; what you’re eating and when you’re eating it plays an incredibly important role in your hormonal balance and the energy you need to train regularly. Unfortunately, that topic will have to wait until at least next week, because there’s a mental health component to tie into it.
To stuff all that into one e-mail is just asking for no one to read it. My hope is that these take you no more than five minutes a day. I also hope you’re looking forward to tomorrow’s e-mail.
I’ll see you then!
